Ka-bloom!
Sunday, May 4: The Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s 27th cherry blossom festival, “Sakura Matsuri,” kicks off May 3, but the event continues today with dance performances and live music ranging from the traditional to the utterly contemporary. Fiesta time
Monday, May 5: While Cinco de Mayo officially celebrates the victory of the Mexican army over the French in 1862, most people use the holiday as an excuse to guzzle tequila. With that in mind, restaurants and bars across the borough are celebrating. Mexicali in Cobble Hill is celebrating with an all-day happy hour — try the mango margaritas or signature sangria — and a huge menu of south-of-the-border favorites.
Noon to 10:30 pm at Mexicali (141 Court St. at Atlantic Avenue in Cobble Hill). For information, call (718) 625-7370.
