KNIFEPOINT! Cops notice pattern in Billyburg mugs

del.icio.usCops have identified a pattern of knifepoint stick-ups in Williamsburg involving a Hispanic man in his late teens or early 20s who follows women, pulls a knife, demands their dough then flees.
Cops say the same crook confronted two women on Metropolitan Avenue on March 19, demanding that they fork over their cash. The women were walking home from a bar between Driggs and Bedford Avenues at around 1:10 am, when the crook got in their way.
“Don’t scream,” the man said, revealing a six-inch blade with a black handle. “Just give me your stuff.”
The women handed over two cellphones, a monthly Metrocard, a $20 Metrocard, a vinyl wallet, and $55. Once the crook had his loot, he fled east towards Bedford Avenue.
Cops think that the same crook robbed two women on March 23, also on Metropolitan Avenue.
At around 9:30 pm, the mugger confronted one of the women at the corner of Wythe Avenue, making off with $80. About five minutes later, cops say the thug robbed another woman of her cellphone at the same corner.
The next day, police say that the crook showed his knife to a woman on the corner of South Fourth and Rodney streets, escaping with her Sidekick cellphone at around 8:50 am.
