She’s got legs

del.icio.usAn employee at a national retailer on Smith Street couldn’t stop a woman from stealing a pair of leggings on April 4 because she had some brawny backup.
The worker confronted the young lady outside of the apparel shop between Butler and Douglass streets at 5:50 pm, but she had a card up her sleeve.
The card was actually a gun, and it was in her companion’s waistband. The man displayed the firearm to the worker, telling him, “Don’t think about it.”
The thieving duo drove off in a black 1999 Honda Civic.
Hail of gunfire
A man fired a salvo of bullets at a woman he had been arguing with on Baltic Street on April 2.
The 42-year-old gunslinger fired erratically, hitting the victim twice in her leg at 12:45 am. She was taken from the scene, between Hoyt and Bond streets, to Lutheran Medical Center. Police reports said she “is not likely to die.”
The suspect, who has not been arrested yet, lives on Bond Street.
Keep the change
Four punks foisted counterfeit money on a resilient pizza deliveryman on Mill Street on April 3.
The deliveryman, from a pizzeria chain on Hamilton Avenue, arrived with two pies at an address between Columbia and Hicks streets at 5:30 pm. One of the bamboozlers said, “Yeah, this is for us,” and paid with two fake $20 bills.
The pizza man noticed instantly that the cash was not legit, but was shoved away, allowing the scammers to retreat inside.
But the pizza man did not quit. Using his cellphone, he called the crooks to demand that they compensate him. Unfortunately for him, they did not have a change of heart.
Mystery theft
A man reported that some dear electronic gadgets were stolen from car parked near the corner of Kane Street and Tompkins Place over the weekend of March 29.
The 28-year-old victim reported his iPod, Blackberry and laptop were missing from his trunk, after sitting in the car from 4 pm on March 29 through 11 pm on March 31.
Yet, there were no signs of forced entry and the victim says no one else has keys for the car.
