del.icio.usPrices might be low, but drama will be high at the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition’s summer art exhibition — dubbed “Hot!” — that opens on Saturday.
Along with the usual paintings, sculpture and mixed-media art that the Red Hook-based group shows will be pieces creating IKEA-sized waves.
Painter Newton Meyers will exhibit his “Life as a Delicate Fabric Stretched Between Two Eternities” (pictured), an 11-foot mural that the 82-year-old painter recently won back in a custody battle with a building owned by Bernard Spitzer, the father of the disgraced New York governor.
“We do have some really exciting work,” said organizer Jane Gutterman. “It just gets bigger and better every year.”
The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition’s “Hot!” runs from July 26 to Aug. 17 at 499 Van Brunt St. at Reed Street in Red Hook. Admission is free. For information, call (718) 596-2507 or visit www.bwac.org.
