Cops say a creep sexually assaulted a woman on Sixteenth Street on May 23 in an incident that closely recalls the attacks committed last year by the so-called “South Slope Groper.”
The victim was walking between Fourth and Fifth avenues at 5 am when a young Hispanic man grabbed her, said 72nd Precinct Officer Dean Hanan.
“He had the same [physical traits] as the attacker last summer — but there’s no connection,” he said.
A neighbor claiming to be familiar with the crime said the perp fondled victim’s lower stomach, then ran away after she screamed — a move that occurred in several incidents during year’s spate of attacks against women.
Police say the victim was gone by the time cops arrived and officers made no arrests.Reach reporter Natalie O'Neill at email@example.com or by calling her at (718) 260-4505.
