Tech foul

Cops say they arrested two teens for beating up a City Tech student on Myrtle Avenue and trying to filch his iPhone.

The victim told police that he was near St. Edwards Street at 8:30 pm when one of the young thieves put him in a chokehold. The other said, “Don’t move, and give up that iPhone!” They ran into a nearby residence without the mobile.

Police later arrested two 13-year-old suspects.

Apple pry

A two-bit thief tried to steal a woman’s iPhone on S. Portland Avenue on Feb. 15.

The victim told cops that she was near Lafayette Avenue at 7:40 pm when the perp asked, “Hey, do you know what time it is?”

When the woman took out her phone to check, he tried to grab it, then fled east on Lafayette Avenue.

Riding high

Some grifter plucked a man’s wallet on Myrtle Avenue on Feb. 17 — seconds after he dropped it on the ground.

The 74-year-old victim told cops that he parked near Ryerson Street at 3 pm and accidentally let go of his billfold. That’s when his wife, who remained in the car, saw a goon stoop down and snatch it.

The suspect got away with $450, a $556 payroll check, and credit cards.

Food bank

A devious employee swiped $1,200 from the Applebee’s on Flatbush Avenue Extension on Feb. 15.

The manager told police that the worker left the chain restaurant near DeKalb Avenue at about 12:30 am — without returning his shift’s earnings.

Scotched tape

Some rascal broke into a moving company’s truck at a Carlton Avenue parking garage on Feb. 12 — scoring $175 in shrink-wrap and other supplies.

The victim told police that he parked at the carport near Flushing Avenue at 9 pm. When he returned three days later, the truck’s lock was clipped and a bunch of tape, straps, and a dolly were gone.

Stainless steal

A crook stole an antique metal gate from a Vanderbilt Avenue residence on Feb. 16.

The resident told cops that he last saw the prized portal of the home near Park Avenue at 8 pm. When he passed by an hour later, the $1,000 piece of heavy metal was gone.

Navy blue

Some jerk boosted a brand-new car from Park Avenue on Feb. 17.

The North Carolina victim told police that she parked near St. Edwards Street at 10 pm. When she returned the next morning, her $23,000 Ford van was gone.

Break faith

A partygoer snatched a woman’s purse at a Clermont Avenue church event on Feb. 19.

The Bronx victim told police that she was at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple near Lafayette Avenue at 2:30 pm when she set her handbag on a table. When she returned 90 minutes later, her stuff — including $170, and a cellphone — was gone.

Loot window

A sneaky thief yanked a laptop from a man’s Carlton Avenue apartment on Feb. 17.

The victim told police that he left his apartment near Park Avenue at 7 am to walk his dog and go to work, leaving his computer in the living room. When he returned that night, his $500 Toshiba toy was gone.

He told police that his dog walker has access to the apartment every day.
