A 23-year-old male pedestrian is dead after a car crash in Boro Park sent a vehicle flying into him on Wednesday night, according to police.

Investigators say the crash occurred at around 7:12 p.m., when two 27-year-old male drivers collided their cars at the intersection of 13th Avenue and 50th Street. The vehicles were traveling perpendicular to one another, but police did not yet identify which one had the right-of-way.

After the collision, one of the cars spun out of control and hit Chaim Blum as he was crossing on foot at the intersection.

Paramedics arrived on the scene and rushed Blum to Maimonides Medical Center, where doctors pronounced him dead.

Both drivers remained on the scene, and no arrests have yet been made. The investigation remains ongoing.

Between New Year’s Day and April 1, the Five Boroughs saw 23 pedestrians die in traffic incidents.
