Violent jerks steal moped

Three jerks allegedly knocked a man off his moped and stole it on Neptune Avenue on Nov. 30.

Cops said the victim was riding the vehicle near the intersection of Brighton 4th Street just before 2pm when the trio approached him, knocked him off the moped and started kicking him. With the victim laid out on the ground, the three thieves piled onto the moped and took off.

The victim was left with minor injuries, which were treated by emergency responders on the scene. Police searched the area and found stolen moped and one rider, who was arrested. 

Shoplifter shoves employee

A shoplifter allegedly got violent with an employee at a Mermaid Avenue store on Nov. 30.

The employee told police the alleged thief grabbed a container of Tide laundry detergent from a shelf and headed to the exit at around 6:30pm. When the victim tried to confront the thief, he shoved him to the ground, causing pain in his wrist and back. 

Police arrested the baddie on the scene.

Friendly fight comes to blows

An argument between friends got violent on 26th Avenue on Dec. 2. 

According to police, the pair started arguing at 9:25pm near Harway Avenue – and the disagreement quickly escalated. The alleged attacker started punching his friend in the face, leaving her swollen and bruised, with a laceration above her nose.

Emergency responders brought the victim to Coney Island Hospital for treatment.

Parking garage break-in

A bandit broke into a car parked inside a Stillwell Avenue parking garage on Nov. 29. 

Cops said the victim parked his van, which he uses for work, in the garage near Mermaid Avenue at about 10:00pm. When he returned, he found three of the vehicle’s windows shattered and a full Milwaukee tool box missing from inside. The toolbox and tools were worth about $500.
