Caught red-handed

An attempted burglar was caught after breaking into an apartment on 23rd Avenue near Crospey Avenue on Jan. 24. 

According to police, the burglar was seen forcibly entering the Bath Beach location on live camera footage. When police officers arrived the suspect escaped through a front window and ran away on foot. 

Cops picked up the 37-year-old man after a quick chase, and said he had a gun on his person when he was arrested. 

Lost it all

A thief stole a car full of personal items from a woman in Bensonhurst on Jan. 22.

According to police, unknown robbers stole a vehicle parked near the corner of 15th Avenue and 68th Street at 3:30 p.m. There was broken glass found near the back of the car.

All stolen items were valued at $30,000. 

Unusual Uber

An Uber driver allegedly stole from one of his riders near 20th Avenue and 20th Lane in Bath Beach on Jan. 25.

The victim told police $1,507.49 was stolen from his Uber account and sent to a debit card account at 10:09 p.m.

He said he had his phone on him the entire time. 

Bay Parkway break-in

Someone broke into an apartment off Bay Parkway near 83rd Street on Jan. 22. 

Police said the victim came home at 8 a.m. to find his apartment in disarray and $7,770, clothes and tools missing. 

Roughed-up robbery 

A couple of robbers roughed up a teen near Bath Beach Park near the 17th Avenue entrance on Jan. 25. 

The victim told police the robbers tried to take his backpack, pushing him to the ground and telling him to give them the bag and his phone at 10:55 p.m. 

The 19-year-old ran away after the suspects showed a black firearm. He dropped his phone as he was running away.
