AirPods snatched on street
A stranger snatched a pair of AirPods Max from a man’s head on April 13.
The victim told police he was walking along Fulton Street listening to music just after 5 p.m. when a passerby reached out and snatched the over-ear headphones, and took off down Hoyt Street.
Cops have not found the thief, and it appeared they had turned off tracking, as the victim was no longer able to see their live location.
Brooklyn Heights man threatened, scammed
A Brooklyn Heights man was scammed out of $500 on April 13.
The victim told police he got a phone call and text messages from an unknown number urging him to send $500 via CashApp. When he hesitated, the scammer threatened to send someone to his home to kill his family if he didn’t cooperate.
Feeling fearful for his life, the victim sent the cash before calling the police.
Wallet purloined from parked car
A sneaky thief broke into a parked car and made off with a man’s wallet on April 13.
According to police, the victim parked and locked his car in Dumbo around 3:30 p.m. When he returned 20 minutes later, the window was broken and his wallet — with his credit cards and driver’s license — was missing from the cup holder.
The robber later tried to charge $343 on the card at Walgreens, but the payment didn’t go through.
Thief nabs delivery worker’s e-bike
A delivery worker’s e-bike was stolen in Dumbo mid-shift on April 11.
Police said the victim parked his Arrow 10 e-bike, worth nearly $2,000, at the corner of Bridge and Willoughby streets while he made a delivery. Minutes later, the bike was gone.
Tracking software showed the bike was brought to upper Manhattan. Officers were searching for surveillance footage to identify the thief.
Court officer assaulted
A man was arrested after he had a physical fight with another man at Brooklyn Supreme Court on April 9.
According to police, the brawl broke out in the court building at 320 Jay St. around 10:30 a.m. When a court officer attempted to intervene, the defendant allegedly ignored his demands, resisted arrest, and physically injured the officer when he physically intervened.
The man was cuffed for assaulting a police officer.
