This event was un-fur-getable!
A handful of homeless Kings County furballs found their way out of the shelter and into a fur-ever home Saturday, when the Animal Care Center setup its NYC mobile adoption truck to Councilman Alan Maisel’s Mill Basin office.
The little truck of love ferried two dogs, along with nine cats and kittens to the event on Ralph Avenue near Avenue N, according to ACC worker Bridget Apel.
Maisel staffer Tyler Reynolds adopted London, a 4-year old boxer mix.
And London wasn’t the only four-legged Brooklynite to find a home Saturday, and Maisel said the only limit to his constituents’ charity was the lack of brown-eyed tail waggers!
“The ACC didn’t bring enough animals,” Maisel said. “We had more people than we anticipated!”
While most animals were adopted, Missy, a 7-year-old mixed-breed dog, is still in search for a home, according to Apel.
“Missy is a sweetheart and housebroken, I’m willing to bring Missy to a family for interaction if they are interested,” Apel said.
Maisel said that, given the success of Saturday’s event, he hopes host another in the future.
“I am open to having the event again, but do not have a specific date for when that will happen,” he said.
