Big Movies for Little Kids, Brooklyn’s own popular, film series for children, held in Cobble Hill, returns for a new season in September.
Films in the series are shown alternate Mondays, following the public school calendar, at 4 p.m. at the Cobble Hill Cinemas, 265 Court Street at Butler. Admission is $6.50; lap-sitters under two are free. The shows are primarily geared for kids ages 2-6.
September 8 brings The Thief of Bagdad. Hailed the greatest fantasy film ever made, the Academy Award-winning classic is an Arabian Nights adventure that enraptures and charms viewers of all ages.
A fantastical tale in vibrant Technicolor, this unprecedented film with its gorgeous, epic-scale sets, flying horses, magic carpets, and the famous Genie in a bottle, exceeds expectations and will delightfully spark your children’s imagination.
Big Movies for Little Kids returns on September 22 with An American Tail.
Animation legend Don Bluth spins a charming yarn, creating a delightful modern classic showing American history through the eyes of an adorable Russian mouse, Fievel Mousekewitz.
Voice talent from the hilarious Dom Deluise and Madeline Kahn and beautiful music, including the hit, “Somewhere Out There,” sung by James Ingrahm and Linda Rondstadt, are reasons to share this Oscar-nominated tale with your favorite little people.
