Bandit nabs bag on basketball court

A bandit grabbed a bag sitting on the basketball court at Brooklyn Bridge Park on May 29.

Police said the victim set his tote bag down on the court while he played a game of basketball with some friends at around 6pm. A few minutes later, he turned and realized the bag, along with his Apple iPhone, credit card, glasses, and house keys, was gone. The phone was switched off at the time, so cops were unable to track its location.

Pickpocket ruins night on the town

Some jerk swiped a woman’s card holder near the Ace Hotel on Schermerhorn Street on May 27.

Police said the victim had used her ID to get into a nightclub late the night before and tucked the card holder safely back into her purse — but realized upon waking up at her hotel near Bond Street at about 8am that it had vanished, and the thief had used her stolen credit card to make a more than $250 purchase at an MTA booth in Manhattan. The stolen card holder contained the victim’s credit card and New Jersey driver’s license.

Motorcycle thief gets caught

A thief was caught after allegedly stealing a motorcycle from Sands Street on May 24.

The victim told police he parked his NIU motorcycle at the corner of Adams Street just before 3:30pm. Less than an hour later, the $4,000 bike was gone — but all hope was not lost. Thinking fast, the owner tracked his bike and hightailed it to its new location on Graham Avenue, where he spotted the alleged thief and called the cops.

Officers arrested the jerk on the spot.

R train robber

Some worm robbed a straphanger waiting for a late-night R train at the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center stop on May 24.

Police said the victim was standing at the platform near the 4th Avenue and Pacific Street station just before 2am when the pirate demanded he hand over his phone and started punching him. He grabbed the victim’s iPhone 11, worth about $500, and ran off with it. Cops searched the area but couldn’t find the thief.

The victim was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital with injuries to his eyes and scratches on his face.

Laptop stolen from parked car

A sneak broke the window of a parked car on Galatin Place on May 28.

The victim told police she parked her car near the corner of Livingston Street at about 10:15am and locked the doors. When she got back to the vehicle at around 11am, the rear passenger window was shattered and her laptop, credit card, and iPhone were missing. Later that day, she was notified that someone had tried to use her credit card at a Fulton Street shop.
