Brighton Beachers are doing their banking in parking-lot trailers while builders redevelop Trump Village Shopping Center. The corrugated metal structure housing an Apple Bank may be temporary, but its security will stand the test of time, one manager said.
The branch still has the same level of security as when it was in a brick structure,” said Apple Bank branch manager Gerard Bruce. “We take the security of our staff and clients very seriously.”
Capitol One has a trailer, too, and reps also said the structure is as secure as an actual building.
“The security of our customers and their accounts is our priority with any of our branches and this temporary branch [Neptune South] is no exception,” spokeswoman Amanda Landers said. “This branch meets all of the required security standards and has the same level of security as our branches.”
Reps from both banks declined to comment further on security measures.
Developer Cammeby’s International is knocking down the shopping plaza at the corner of Neptune Avenue and W. Sixth Street, Con-Ed is cleaning up toxic dirt below it, and Cammeby’s is rebuilding the retail plaza with a 40-story tower next door. The project is expected to be done in 2017.
Apple Bank has signed a lease for a spot in the new building, and Capital One is still finalizing its own, a Cammeby’s spokeswoman said.
