Talk about a hairy situation!

Kings County’s woolliest weirdos went stubble to stubble at the 12th annual Beard and Mustache Competition in Coney Island on Saturday, treating locals to an unusual sort of fun, according to one organizer.

“It’s whacky entertainment, in the home of whacky entertainment,” said Adam “RealMan” Rinn, the producer and emcee of Coney Island’s goatee gauntlet.

The competition saw “hairy men who smell bad,” as unofficial Mayor of Coney Island Dick Zigun put it, traverse the stage, their chins jutted out to accentuate their magnificent facial hair as judges handed out prizes for best style and best natural look.

Occasionally the judges failed reach a consensus, forcing the competitors to endure absurd tie-breaking events, such using their beards to scoop hummus from a bowl, or simply doing pushups.

Creator and co-emcee Donny Vomit first introduced the follicle fracas to Coney Island in 2007, and the competition has since attracted hundreds of bearded bros to duke it out in the People’s Playground.

“It’s in Coney Island people know what to expect,” said Rinn. “They know it’s going to be whacky.”
