One of pop music’s brightest stars is coming to DUMBO Mar 5 – with the mom.
Beyoncé and Tina Knowles are scheduled to speak at the opening of the Beyoncé Cosmetology Center at the Phoenix House Career Academy, 50 Jay Street.
Phoenix House offers substance abuse treatment services including a halfway house.
Beyonce, originally from Texas, recently won six of the 10 Grammy awards she was nominated for – a record for a female singer. This includes the Record of the Year for “Halo”, and Song of the Year for “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)”.
She is married to Brooklyn rap legend Jay-Z.
The two have also reportedly been looking at condominiums in the DUMBO area.
