A fire ravaged an apartment in Midwood and left three people injured on Aug. 16.

New York’s Bravest responded to a 911 call of a fire at 9 am on the fifth floor of a residential building on 18th Street, between Bay Avenue and Avenue L.

The fire destroyed much of the interior of the apartment but firefighters brought it under control by 9:30 am.

The cause is still being investigated, according to a spokesman for the fire department.

Some of the neighbors in the building said that the central smoke detector system never sounded the alarm. This could not be confirmed with the owners of the building JK Management Corporation, which did not respond for comment by press time.

There were many negative online reviews of the Kensington-based management company, however, which owns three other residential buildings in the borough.
