They’re getting down to business!

Brooklyn College is building a new home for the Koppelman School of Business at its Flatbush campus — and gunning to get the school a regional accreditation. The designation would be a first in the borough, but the school’s aspirations are higher than just county-wide dominance, the dean said.

“We want to be the top premier business schools in the country,” said Willie Hopkins, who heads the business program.

The new building will replace the shuttered Meat Barn market on Nostrand Avenue near Avenue H. Brooklyn College bought the land in 2011 and recently put up a construction fence, according to a spokesman, who would not say when work will get underway.

The new building will also house classrooms and administrative offices displaced when the college renovates Roosevelt Hall, the spokesman said.

The school will seek accreditation with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, which has bestowed its designation to the likes of Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business and New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Philanthropist, Brooklyn College alum, and business school namesake Murray Koppelman gave the school $12.5 million, which will help the school get through the accreditation process faster, according to Hopkins.

“We’re just really happy that Mr. Koppleman gave us the money,” said Hopkins.

“We want to make sure we have the best faculty and best programs — the funding will help us meet those two goals.”
