Flatbush folly

A band of bandits scavenged a man’s apartment on Flatbush Avenue on Nov. 13 — stealing a laptop, power drill, digital camera, camera lens, checkbook, and camera bag, police said.

The 24-year-old man said he thinks the perp must have entered the apartment between St. Marks Avenue and Prospect Place through his window or front door sometime between 9:40 am and 7:45 pm, though a neighbor said her boyfriend might have heard the building’s roof hatch opening around 1 pm.

Multiple residents said the front door to their apartment building does not properly lock, and that is often mistaken for another building on Flatbush Avenue.

Volks-long-gone

A carjacker drove off with a woman’s Volkswagon parked on First Street on Nov. 11, police said.

Cops scanned the area between Seventh and Eighth Avenue for clues after the vehicle was reported stolen sometime between 6:10 and 8:40 am, but there was no glass on the street. The car was not in the immediate area, tow log, or Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Dash on Dean

A crook rode off with a man’s Chevy parked on Dean Street in the early morning of Nov. 11, police said.

Video surveillance caught the perp hopping into the car left between Fourth and Fifth Avenue around 4 am, though no arrests have been made.

Copper conundrum

A man returned to his Sackett Street construction site on Nov. 11 to find a set of copper pipes long gone, police said.

The 35-year-old said he left the hallway construction site between Fourth and Fifth Avenue for only 30 minutes at 5:30 pm. When he came back, he noticed $800 worth of copper pipes were gone. There were no signs that anyone had been there in the time he was gone.

Drill deposed

A 51-year-old male was cuffed for allegedly stealing a power drill from a van parked at the loading dock of the Atlantic Terminal mall on Nov. 15.

Video surveillance captured the man entering the mall’s loading dock, using a screwdriver to enter a van, and lugging off a power drill around 1:55 pm, police reported.

iGone

A quick thief swiped a 14-year-old girl’s iPhone from her hand on Fifth Street on Nov. 15, police said.

The girl told cops she was near Fifth Avenue when the man, about 60 years old, took it from her. He fled down Fifth Street and hopped into an unidentified brown van. She tried to use the Find My iPhone app, but could not remember her Apple ID.

Bike bandit

Cops are looking for a 40-year-old criminal who stole a man’s black bike parked in front of an Atlantic Avenue department store, police said.

The 27-year-old man said he left his bike in front of the store at Fort Greene Place at 8:25 pm, and when he came back a half-hour later, his two-wheeler was gone.

The perp, who police think they have captured on surveillance, cut through a kryptonite lock.

Southbound snooze

A crook took a woman’s wallet as she slept on an early morning Coney Island-bound D train on Nov. 17.

The 53-year-old woman said she got on the train at Seventh Avenue in Manhattan at 1:15 am and fell asleep. She woke up at the Pacific Street station at 2:30 am and found that someone swiped her wallet containing her license, library card, debit card, and employment ID card, she said.

Empty-handed

A criminal or team of criminals scavenged a man’s Eighth Street apartment on Nov. 12, but didn’t take anything home, police said.

The 49-year-old resident said he left his apartment between Fourth and Fifth Avenue at 7:30 am. When he returned at 6:10 pm, door glass was shattered and some of his stuff was scattered all over the place.

Neighbors said they didn’t hear or see anything, though cops said they think the point of entry could have been an adjoining apartment.

Crook with wings

A robber lifted a Flatbush Avenue restaurant employee’s phone, license, and debit card from her backpack while she was at work on Nov. 15, police said.

The 20-year-old female said she left her bag in the employee section of the eatery near Atlantic Avenue between 6:30 and 11 pm. Her co-workers said they did not see anything.

Car-ried away

A crafty carjacker stole a woman’s car parked in front of a brownstone on Seventh Street sometime between Nov. 7 and 12, cops said.

The 47-year-old woman said she parked her Toyota between Prospect Park West and Eighth Avenue at 5:30 pm on Nov. 7 and returned on Nov. 12 at 2:15 pm, only to find the car had been stolen. The vehicle had not been towed or impounded.
