An ill fated U turn sent an infant child to the hospital and left multiple vehicles trapped beneath the rubble of a ruined sidewalk shed in Williamsburg on Friday.

The driver behind the wheel of a 2019 Hyundai attempted to make a U turn on Borinquen Place near Hooper Street at 10:44 pm, when the motorist sideswiped another vehicle, causing it to collide with three other parked cars, before jumping the curb and plowing through a nearby construction fence, cops said.

The accident caused a 40-foot section of the sidewalk shed to collapse, and multiple vehicles remained trapped beneath the rubble as of Saturday afternoon, as contractors labored to repair the damage.

Paramedics rushed the occupants of the second vehicle, including the 32-year-old motorist, a 7-year-old child and a 9-month-old baby, to Woodhull Medical Center, where they were listed in stable condition, according to police.
