The Cyclones managed to come back from an 8–6 deficit to take a one-run lead, but the ValleyCats rallied to take back the lead and the Clones lost for the ninth time in a row.

Down by two in the sixth, the Cyclones loaded the bases for Guillermo Granadillo, who singled to score Jeremy Vazquez. Dylan Snypes then grounded into a force out at home before Franklin Correa scored on a wild pitch. Granadillo then scored on an fielding error by shortstop Miguelangel Sierra to give the Cyclones a 9–8 lead.

But the ValleyCats tied the game in the bottom of the same inning. With runners on second and third, Cyclones reliever Cannon Chadwick threw a wild pitch to score Colton Shaver.

The Cyclones took the lead back a short while later. In the top of the seventh, Correa hit a lead-off double and Carlos Sanchez followed that with a single to score Correa.

The ValleyCats followed that with a big rally in the bottom of the inning. With runners on the corners and one out, Sierra hit a sacrifice fly that dropped thanks to a fielding error made by Jose Miguel “Funky Cold” Medina. Because of that, Michael Papierski and Kyle Davis both scored and Sierra reached second. After Jacob Meyers singled to advance Sierra to third, Bryan De La Cruz singled to score both of them to make it 10–13.

Our boys couldn’t get anything going after that as they went on to lose one of their most epic games of the season.

The loss puts the Cyclones at 15–43, which secures their last place spot in the McNamara Division and puts them seventeen games behind the Hudson Valley Renegades.

The Cyclones’ “Drive for 20” begins anew tonight at 7 pm in Tri-City.
