What should have been a joyous day turned tragic when a Bay Ridge senior was struck on 69th Street by hit-and-run driver on Christmas morning.

The driver of a red sports utility vehicle critically injured an 82-year-old man on Dec. 25 before fleeing the scene, authorities say.

Police report that the flighty motorist was travelling down Third Avenue in the direction of Sunset Park at around 9 am, then took a right onto 69th Street — which the elderly victim was crossing outside the crosswalk.

The vehicle collided with the jaywalker, breaking his leg, causing internal injuries, and knocking him unconscious. But the driver continued on his course.

Fire Department ambulances took the man to Lutheran Medical Center at 9:16 am.

Cops are continuing to investigate the incident, and are searching for the driver.
