The Cyclones faced a very different Spinners Monday night.

After being shut out 1–0 Sunday, Lowell pummelled the Clones, outscoring them by nine, the largest deficit this season for Brooklyn.

Lowell got to work in the third. Jonathan Ortega was walked with two outs, then stole second and third. Ortega was driven in by Jarren Duran when he singled to center. Duran then stole second and Cole Brennan walked before Kole Cottam ripped a three-run homer to put the New Englanders up 4–0.

Lowell increased its lead in the fourth with two consecutive doubles from Tyler Dearden and Xavier LeGrant, who brought home a run before a Ramfis Berroa single scored another.

In the fifth, Lowell had runners in scoring position after Devil Granberg singled and Dearden walked. Granberg was driven in when Berroa singled up the hole, and Dearden scored on a wild pitch from Seth Davis.

Lowell had runners on again in the seventh when Dearden was hit by a pitch and moved to second on a single and third on a walk. Berroa then singled and moved to second on a walk, and Duran drove in both players with a single up the hole. Lowell tacked on one more run in the eighth when Dearden batted in Granberg, who had doubled and moved to third on a wild pitch, with a single.

Brooklyn came alive briefly in the eighth, preventing the shutout when Chase Chambers drove in former Staten Island Yankee Kendall Coleman with a single, and Ross Adolph drove in Chambers with a triple, but it wasn’t enough to take down Lowell’s massive lead.

Kyle Wilson took the loss, giving up four runs in three innings of work.

Our boys seek vengeance tonight at MCU at 7 pm.
