Starter Briam Campusano shut out the Tigers for five innings, striking out eight and walking only two, earning his second win of the season.
Brooklyn put three on the board in the second. Ross Adolph cracked a triple to right to drive in Carlos Sanchez who had reached first on an error and Chase Chambers who had doubled. Adolph then scored when Chandler Avant grounded out.
The Clones blew the game open with single runs in the third and fourth followed by two runs in the sixth to make it 8–0.
Our boys tacked on a run in the eighth when Wagner Lagrange’s ground out drove in Brian Sharp.
Connecticut scored the team’s lone run in the eighth off reliever Ezequiel Zabaleta, who threw three innings of three-hit ball. Seth Davis struck out two in the ninth.
The win gives the Clones a 6–2 record on the season, one game up on the 2017 champion Hudson Valley Renegades.
The Clones go for the sweep tonight in Connecticut.
