Ross Adolph and Christian James led the Cyclones to a huge win over the lowly Tigers on Friday, breaking a four-game losing streak and keeping pace in the kill-or-be-killed McNamara Division.

James allowed only two hits over a career-high eight innings of shutout ball, striking out two along the way. Three out of the four wins the righty from Florida has earned this year have been against Connecticut.

Adolph boosted the Clones offense, going three-for-four with a double, two triples, three runs batted in, and three runs scored.

Jose Miguel Medina led off the Clones three-run second inning with a solo shot. Two outs later, Adolph cracked a triple that scored Anthony Dirocie and Hayden Senger, who had walked and singled.

After a two-run fourth, our boys racked up five in the sixth. Senger was hit by a pitch before Adolph cracked his second triple of the night to score him. Dylan Tice then singled to score Adolph before advancing to second on a passed ball and scoring on a single from Wagner Lagrange. Chase Chambers then tripled to score Lagrange. And after a pitching change, the Tigers walked three batters in a row, sending Chambers home to make it 10–0 Clones.

Brooklyn tacked on two more on in the seventh, before Connecticut scored its lone run in the ninth.

The Cyclones still sit in third place at 35–30, in a virtual tie for second place with the hated Staten Island Yankees, who won last night 4–1 and are 34–29. Meanwhile, the Hudson Valley Renegades are in first at 38–27 in the toughest division in professional baseball.

Our boys face the Tigers again tonight at 6 pm at MCU Park. I personally recommend you attend. Signed, Ben Verde.
