Aug. 12 in Hudson Valley (Game one)
Cyclones starter David Peterson allowed just two hits and no runs while striking out three, but the boys’ bats mustered only one run as the team fell to the Renegades.
The Cyclones’ lone run came early. Quinn “Chief” Brodey led off the second inning with a triple then Jeremy Vazquez walked before Carl Stajduhar hit a sacrifice fly to score Brodey to make it 1–0.
It didn’t take long for the Renegades to catch up. Carl Chester tripled before Brendan McKay grounded out to first to score Chester and tie it up in the third.
The Renegades took the lead in the sixth when Bill Pujols doubled to right field to score Oscar Rojas from first. In the eighth, Deion Tansel singled with runners on first and second to score both Angel Perez and Rafaelin Lorenzo to make it 4–1.
The loss made the Clones 15–35 on the season and 10-and-a-half games in back of the second-to-last-place Renegades.

Aug. 12 in Hudson Valley (Game two)
Matt Harvey had an unspectacular outing on the mound, allowing one hit and one run in the one inning he pitched, and Cyclones reliever Luis De Los Santos got rocked, allowing six hits and five runs in three innings pitched, as our boys lost to the Renegades for a third-straight defeat.
The Cyclones and the Renegades exchanged runs early on. In the top of the first, Walter “Rabbi” Rasquin hit a lead-off double then advanced to third on a wild pitch before Quinn “Cheif” Brodey hit a sacrifice fly to score Rasquin. But the Renegades were quick to tie it. In the bottom of the same inning, Taylor Walls singled with a runner on third to score Vidal Brujan.
The Renegades added to the score in the next three innings. In the second, Angel Perez hit a lead-off double then advanced to third off a Isaac Bernard ground-out, then Jean Ramirez singled to score Perez. In the third, Taylor Walls hit a ground out with runners on second and third to score Brujan, then Perez grounded into a force out at second to score Carl Chester. In the sixth, Deion Tansel hit an inside-the-park home run with a man on to score both him and Matt Eureste to make it 6–1.
The Cyclones did what they could to catch up. Franklin Correa led off the sixth, then advanced to second on a passed ball, then advanced to third on a ground out from Cecilio Aybar. The Rabbi then grounded out to score Correa to make it 6–2, but that was all the Clones got.
The loss puts the Cyclones at a league-worst 15–36, eleven-and-a-half games in back of the Renegades — who, by the way, are in second-to-last-place, five-and-a-half back of the hated Staten Island Yankees, who sit atop the McNamara Division.
