July 30 in Aberdeen

It keeps getting worse…

The Cyclones blew two three-run leads before losing it in the ninth in the worst loss of a season that has had many bad loses.

Cyclones reliever Tony Dibrell blew the save when he gave up a two-run lead in the seventh, and Cyclones reliever Cannon Chadwick blew the game when he gave up the game-winning run as the Cyclones lost to the Ironbirds.

Our boys had a 3–0 lead by the third inning, but Aberdeen answered with three in the bottom of the frame off Jose “Funky Cold” Medina, who then coughed up the lead in the fourth.

But the Clones roared back in the fifth, scoring three more, only to give up the lead in the seventh when Dibrell relived Stephen Villines. After hitting Trevor Craport was hit with a pitch, Kirvin Moesquit doubled to put Craport on third. Mason McCoy then singled to score both Craport and Moesquit to tie the game.

The Cyclones had an opportunity to take the lead in the ninth when Carlos Sanchez walked and Cecilio Aybar hit a sacrifice bunt to advance Sanchez to second, but Leon Byrd Jr. struck out and Reed Gamache flied out to end the inning.

It didn’t take Chadwick long to lose the game. After Moesquit and McCoy were walked to lead off the inning, Ben Breazeale singled to score Moesquit to end the game.

The Cyclones have lost all four of the road games on this trip, racking up five straight losses. This puts our boys at an abysmal 12–27, which keeps them six games ahead of the Hudson Valley Renegades in the “Battle for the Basement.”

The Cyclones hope to end their skid tonight at 6:05 pm in Aberdeen.
