The Cole Bros. Circus of the Stars returns to Brooklyn this week, with performances now to August 3 at Aviator Sports and Recreation.
In addition to acrobats, denizens of clown alley and daredevil aerial artists, the 2008 edition of Cole Bros. Circus of the Stars features more than a score of educated animal performers, including camels, horses and dogs.
Come see the MotoThunderdrome, where motorcyclists face death daily inside a small steel cage; there are the stars of the flying trapeze; plenty of clown antics, springboard acrobatics, an aerial ballet and, of course, the finale of the Human Cannonball…plus, many others.
Additionally, the Cole Bros. Circus has donated 100 Reserve Tickets for the NYPD Widows & Children Fund, through the NYPD Detective Endowment Association. These families have lost a famly member who was killed in the line of duty or passed from an illness associated with an illness from 9/11.
The Circus also is hosting Law Enforcement Night at the circus, August 2 at the 8 p.m. show. The NYPD Emrald Society Bag Pipe Corp will be performing one of America’ s traditional song at the Saturday night show.
Remaining showtimes are August 1, 2 and 3 at 5 and 8 p.m. as well as August 2 and 3 at 2 p.m. Aviator Sports is on Flatbush Avenue south of the Belt Parkway, exit 11S. For tickets, call 718-758-7500 or visit www.aviatorsports.com.
