Police are hunting for three individuals in connection to a string of five robberies between October and January, some involving violent assaults, in Madison and Sheepshead Bay.
Investigators believe the following incidents are related:
• On Oct. 13 at 1:00 pm, on Avenue P near E. 29th Street, two people approached a 14-year-old boy, threatened to assault him, and demanded he give up his property. The boy gave up his backpack and the thieves fled on Avenue P towards Nostrand Avenue.
• On Oct. 31 at 2:45 pm, near E. 18th Street and Avenue S, two people approached a different 14-year-old boy, threatened him, and demanded his property. The boy gave them his cell phone and the men fled in an unknown direction.
• On Nov. 28 at 3:15 pm, near Gravesend Neck Road and E. 17th Street, a group of men assaulted a 19-year-old man, took his cell phone, and then fled into the Gravesend Neck Road Q subway station.
• On Dec. 7 at 5:30 pm, on E. 16th Street near Avenue S, four people approached an 18-year-old man and threatened to hit him if he didn’t give up his jacket. The man gave them the jacket and the thieves fled in an unknown direction.
• On Jan. 3 at around 2:30 pm, on Gravesend Neck Road near E. 14th Street, someone approached a 12-year-old boy, hit him in the face, and took his cell phone.
Police have arrested one 17-year-old from East Flatbush in connection to the robberies. He is charged with two counts of robbery.
But police are still looking for three other men in connection with these robberies. The first man was last seen wearing a black knit cap, a black and red jacket, black sweatpants and black and white sneakers. The second was last seen wearing black hooded jacket, blue jeans and black sneakers. And the third was last seen wearing black hooded sweater, a gray jacket, black pants and tan work boots.
“The investigation is ongoing,” said a police spokesman. “There have been no further arrests.”
