Couple found dead in East Flatbush garage, another man succumbs to gunshot wounds

A couple was found dead inside the garage of an East Flatbush home on Tuesday evening.

Police found the 59-year-old man and 52-year-old woman inside a parked car in the garage of a house on Snyder Avenue by E. 31st Street at 5:25 am on May 12, officials said. 

Police received a call at 5:25 pm regarding an unconscious man at a home on Snyder Avenue near E. 31st Street. Upon their arrival, they found a 59-year-old man and 52-year-old woman inside a car parked in the house’s garage without any obvious injuries. 

The victims, whose identities are being withheld pending family notification, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police could not immediately confirm if the victims’ deaths were criminal in nature, or if they died of carbon monoxide poisoning. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death, and the investigation is ongoing.

Two days earlier, another man died of his injuries after he was shot in Brownsville last month. Royston Wellington, 28, was shot in the torso near the corner of Livonia Avenue and Bristol Street at 2:50 pm on April 19, police said. First responders rushed Wellington to Brookdale Hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries on May 10, police said.  

No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
