Cops are searching for the shooter who gunned down a man just blocks from his New York Avenue home in Crown Heights on May 5.
At approximately 7:35 pm, officers responded to a 911 call of shots fired at Bergen Street near New York Avenue, where authorities say they found 25-year-old Oshea Barnes with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.
Barnes was transported to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced dead, cops said.
No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing, according to authorities.
As of May 3, murder was down 50 percent year-to-date in the 77th precinct, where Barnes’ shooting occurred, according to NYPD data. Shooting incidents in the area, however, are up close to 30 percent year over year, as per the most recent statistics.
