Cyclones lose two in a row to Scrappers

Mahoning Valley 2

Cyclones 1

July 25 in Mahoning Valley

The Scrappers scored one in the first and one in the second Wednesday night and those were all they needed to take the game from Brooklyn.

The Clones got within one run in the third when Brian Sharp, who went two-for-four, singled in Jose Miguel Medina, who had doubled and reached third on a balk.

Cyclones relief was able to keep Mahoning Valley at two. Adam Hill, Trent Johnson, and Tylor Megill pitched six scoreless innings, striking out seven. But the Cyclones hitters were stymied, and they couldn’t make up the one-run deficit.

With the loss, our boys fell to third place in the New York-Penn League McNamara Division, exactly one game behind the hated Staten Island Yankees.

Brooklyn hopes to avoid the sweep tonight in Mahoning Valley at 7:05 pm.
