The Cyclones demolished the Lake Monsters Friday night, cracking a season-high 16 hits one day after being humiliated in the first game of the series.

The Clones jumped out to a three-run lead in the first. After Jose Medina walked and was singled to third by Wagner Lagrange, Chase Chamber drove both home with a doubled to center. One out later, third baseman Jonah Bride misplayed Ross Adolph’s grounder, allowing Chambers to score from second.

The Lake Monsters answered with one in the first off starter and winner Nicolas Debora, who benefitted from his offense’s four-run outbursts in the third and fourth and two more runs in the seventh.

Legrange, Chambers, and Brooklyn-born shortstop Manny Rodriguez led the charge with three hits apiece, with Chambers (3) and Rodriguez (2) driving in five of the Clones 13 runs on the night.

Debora earned the win in his first start this season, allowing only two runs over five innings and striking out three.

Closer Yeudy Colon needed to get the last out of the night after reliever Ronald Sanchez got in trouble in the final frame, giving up three runs in his second inning of work.

Brooklyn’s Boys of Summer hope to do it again tonight in Vermont at 6:05 pm.
