Deadly ride

A man died after he was ejected from an all-terrain vehicle and discovered near a creek in Gerritsen Beach on May 3, police say.

Authorities say Christopher Wiltshire was driving a four-wheeler when he fell off the vehicle and struck his face on an object near Shellbank Creek at 5:30 pm. Cops say Wiltshire was transported by emergency medical services to Coney Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The tragic incident is similar to another all-terrain-vehicle death that occurred in the neighborhood less than two months ago. On March 18, Proveaux was operating an all-terrain vehicle near Gerritsen Avenue when the four wheeler struck a cement block and Proveaux was ejected from the vehicle. Proveaux, who suffered head trauma and was transported to Coney Island Hospital, where he also was pronounced dead.

Authorities say Wiltshire’s death is still under investigation.
