Di Fara Pizza, hailed by food critics as one of the best in New York City, is coming to grocery store freezers — bringing its famed slices to pizza lovers beyond the five boroughs.
The Brooklyn institution has partnered with BossBites to launch a frozen line that delivers restaurant-quality, Brooklyn-style pizza straight to home ovens.
The frozen pizzas are available in classic cheese and pepperoni for under $10 at ShopRite, Foodtown, Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace and on Instacart across the tri-state area. Di Fara is on track to expand into national grocery chains — including Ahold Delhaize, Giant, Kroger, LIDL, HEB and more — by late spring.
The late Domenico “Dom” DeMarco opened Di Fara Pizza in Midwood in 1965. The restaurant evolved into a legendary Brooklyn institution, garnering a cult following, including the late chef Anthony Bourdain, who described Di Fara’s pizza as “the best of the best” in a piece he wrote for “The Guardian.”
DeMarco handmade about 100 to 150 pizza pies a day, using only the finest ingredients imported from Italy. The frozen pizza line continues DeMarco’s legacy — honoring the art of making the best possible pizza and now sharing it with people everywhere.

According to Di Fara, the frozen pizza line brings the pizza’s unmistakable flavor to home kitchens, and DeMarco’s spirit lives on one slice at a time. Di Fara uses only the finest ingredients, blending locally sourced produce with imported goods. The crust is crafted from 00 bleached Italian flour, creating a golden, crispy edge with a chewy center.
Each pie is topped with the 60-year-old secret Sunday sauce and a mix of mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses imported from Italy.
In a statement, the Di Fara team called DeMarco “the heart and soul” of the business.
“Dom was the heart and soul of Di Fara, a true pizzaiolo in every sense. For him, success wasn’t measured in dollars but in the craft, the care, and the countless hours spent perfecting every pie. Once word spread, people began traveling to Brooklyn from all over just to taste his legendary pizza. And over time, Dom became a legend himself.”
