Oh, baby!

Dumbo craft e-tail empire Etsy will now give its employees six months’ paid parental leave when they become new moms or dads, the company announced last week.

The online do-it-yourself marketplace — where artisans sell crocheted dissected frogs and soaps in the shape of video game consoles — previously gave “primary” caregivers 12 weeks paid leave and partners shouldering less of the load five weeks off. But it says it will now offer all new parents 26 weeks in an effort to give more time to bond with their kids, regardless of sex or circumstances.

“We want to support and enable parents, regardless of their gender, to play equal roles in building successful companies and nurturing their families,” said spokeswoman Juliet Gorman in a post on the company’s blog.

The deal extends to those who adopt, and all new parents will be able to use the leave over the two years, a rep said.

In addition to working in a whimsical, mossy-walled office, employees also enjoy other perks — they can take unlimited sick days, and score six weeks of continuous paid time off after working for the company for five years.
