A 91-year-old woman and her son died in the early hours of Wednesday morning in a raging inferno that scorched their E. 15th Street home in Midwood, and sent four others to Maimonides Hospital with minor injuries, according to a spokesman for the FDNY.

Firefighters were called in to battle the blaze between avenues I and H at 3:33 am, and a few minutes after arriving sounded a second alarm, calling in reinforcements.

No fewer than 106 of New York’s Bravest converged to combat the fire that ravaged the two-story, brick, single-family home, which was finally quenched nearly an hour after firefighters arrived.

A 91-year-old woman was carried unconscious from the smoldering house, only to die outside of her home. The woman’s 63-year-old son also died, after clinging to life just long enough to reach Kings County Hospital, where he was declared dead.

All other injuries were non-life-threatening, according to an FDNY spokesman.
