A fire engine, a school bus, and two cars collided in Flatlands on Thursday.

Firefighters rushed to the scene at Schenectady Avenue and Avenue N at 3:22 pm, and rushed five people to nearby hospitals with minor injuries, according to a spokesman for New York’s Bravest.

The smoke eaters had to extricate one man who’d become trapped within his car, but the school bus was blissfully empty of children, according to witnesses at the scene.

A police spokeswoman could not provide immediate comment regarding the collision.
