A scamming thief made off with more than $10,000 from a Fifth Avenue check-cashing business on July 8.

The perp entered the store, which is at 19th Street, shortly after 3 pm and flashed a fake FDNY inspector’s shield. The tricked employees gave the “inspector” access to the entire store, including the cash drawer.

Devil dog

A thief stole $700 and a cellphone after he broke into a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder at the intersection of Parkside Avenue and Park Circle on July 4.

The victim parked his car at 8:30 and went for his morning jog. When he returned an hour later, the jeep’s back window was smashed and his property was missing.
