Five runs in final frame sweeps Connecticut

Wagner Lagrange’s bases-loaded single in the ninth turned a one-run deficit into a one-run lead, and the Cyclones knocked in three more in the final frame, snatching victory from the claws of defeat at the paws of the Tigers.

Heading into the ninth, the Clones were down 4–3, but singles by Kevin Hall and Angel Manzanarez put runners on first and second. A botched bunt attempt by Jose Miquel Medina and a single by Jose Brizuela loaded the bases for Lagrange, whose single to left off closer Daniel Gonzalez gave our boys the lead. Walks to Chase Chambers and Brian Sharp scored another run before Ross Adolph singled in Lagrange and Chambers, putting the Clones up by four.

Brooklyn starter Nicolas Debora was shaky, giving up four runs on eight hits in five innings, but the Clones bullpen triumvirate of Billy “The Scholar” Oxford, Kevin “The Director” Smith, and Mac “I’m No” Lozer allowed just four hits in four innings of work.

Brooklyn is now 7–2 and in first place in the McNamara Division.

Our boys return home today to face the Lowell Spinners at 4 pm.
