Life is shorts
Come party in a graveyard, at the final summer screening in the Rooftop Films series at Green-Wood Cemetery. Brooklyn’s fabulous, fuzzy fashion show returns! Dress up your pup and let her walk the red carpet at the annual “Doggy Fashion Show” outside of Freddy’s bar. The street will be shut down until 9 p.m. as part of the Fifth Avenue Summer Stroll, so after the show you can grab a drink, play lawn games, or join an outdoor yoga class.

Soul city
Saturday is already sold out, but Afropunk still has tickets available on Sunday. The annual festival of black music, fashion, and culture will run all day in Commodore Barry Park. The gigantic exhibition of graffiti art “Beyond the Streets,” has extended its run through Sept. 29, and to celebrate, it will waive the usual $25 admission fee on Aug. 29.
