Flooding makes Gowanus look like Atlantis

A powerful storm ripped through Brooklyn Wednesday afternoon — making the blocks surrounding the Gowanus Canal look more like the canals of Venice.

A weather station in Park Slope reported 1.96 inches of rainfall over the course of the deluge, which inundated some streets and sent shop-owners down to their cellars for sandbags.
