Fairy lights on winters nights!

A bevy of Brooklynites convened at the corner of Myrtle Avenue and St. Edward Street on Sunday, Dec. 4 to admire the colorful Christmas tree that now welcomes Fort Greene Park-goers.

Live music and complementary hot chocolate welcomed spectators who stopped by to see the lights go on at the 8th annual Fort Greene Park tree lighting.

Many attendees also dropped off toys for the Myrtle Avenue Toy Drive, which, organizers said, will benefit families at Fort Greene’s Ingersoll and Whitman Houses —a 20-building housing project with 1,823 apartments near Navy Walk and Washington Park.

The drive is being hosted by the Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership, which also organized Sunday’s spectacle.
