A four-story Bedford-Stuyvesant building collapsed on Tuesday afternoon, injuring a handful of people and sending emergency services scrambling to find anyone who might be in the building.

The building at 1440 Fulton St., which is directly across from the intersection of Thompkins Avenue, collapsed at 2:27 pm on Tuesday, according to police. Three people who were outside the building when it fell sustained minor injuries in the implosion, cops said.

Police believe the building was vacant, but in the hours after the disaster, the fire department was still searching the site in case someone was inside. A couple of police arson explosion detectives were also spotted examining on the scene.

The fire department is still investigating the cause of the collapse, according to police.
