Hit-and-run motorist kills senior crossing E. Flatbush street

A driver smashed into a woman crossing an East Flatbush street on Sunday — then took off — leaving the victim with injuries that she died from the next day.

The motorist traveling towards Canarsie on Remsen Avenue plowed into 65-year-old Dorothy Parker as she crossed that road between Church Avenue and Avenue A around 9:50 pm, according to police, who claimed Parker was outside of a crosswalk when hit.

The driver stopped momentarily after sending the senior crashing to the ground, then continued along Remsen Avenue before hanging a right onto Avenue A, where the motorist’s silver Honda Accord was last seen, cops said.

Paramedics rushed to the scene after a passerby called 911, and found Parker — who authorities said lived on Remsen Avenue, just blocks from the collision site — with severe head trauma lying beneath a parked pickup truck, according to officials, who said emergency responders transported the victim in critical condition to Brookdale Hospital, where she died on Monday.

Officers have yet to identify the person at the wheel and their investigation is ongoing, according to police.
