All four rides at Coney Island’s new amusement park, Scream Zone, are labeled “high thrill” attractions, as they are meant to be the scariest rides in the amusement district. But some will make your voice more hoarse than others.

Zenobio
Price: $8
Concept: A 100-foot beam somersaults riders at 60 miles per hour.
Rush factor: Too much time waiting, too little time flipping. Even with a view of the Verrazano, sitting motionless at the top of ride while other people boarded the opposite end of the beam was just plain boring.

Steeplechase
Price: $7
Concept: A roller coaster with model horses that travel through a series of twists and turns.
Rush factor: Accelerating to 40 miles per hour in a about two seconds left my face stretched out, hair a mess and appetite for excitement satisfied. Too bad the ride lasts only 30 seconds.
Screamometer: 3.5
