Ironbirds bomb Cyclones

Aberdeen 6

Cyclones 1

July 11 in Aberdeen

Cyclones starter Briam Campusano coughed up four runs in the first — and failed to get out of the first — as the Ironbirds got ahead early then slowly pulled away.

Billy Oxford replaced Campusano after just two outs, having given up four hits and a walk. Oxford kept Aberdeen at bay, as did Ryan Selmer and Yeudy Colon. But Tommy Wilson gave up two in the seventh on Ironbird Alexis Torres’s single.

Our boys scored their lone run in the fifth when Brian Sharp cracked a solo shot.

The loss puts the Cyclones in a three-way tie with the Staten Island Yankees and the Ironbirds for second place in the NY-Penn League McNamara Division, with all three teams’ records at 12–13, three games behind the Hudson Valley Renegades.

Our boys seek revenge tonight in Aberdeen at 7:05 pm.
