Not even Jeurys Familia could save this season.

The Cyclones “Summer of Hell” continued Tuesday as the our boys’ bats couldn’t get it done, mustering up just five hits and botching three plays as the Clones lost for the 11th time in a row, this time at the hands of the Renegades.

Hard luck pitcher Jake Simon took the loss giving up two runs on just three hits in four innings of work, and Failia, on a rehab assignment, pitched a perfect fifth.

The Renegades wasted no time getting on the board. Vidal Brujan led off the game with a double and stole third base. Brendan McKay struck out on a passed ball which helped Brujan reach home to make it 1–0.

Errors made by the Cyclones helped the Renegades add to the lead. Brujan hit another lead-off double in the top of the third then advanced to third because of a misplay by Quinn “Chief” Brodey in left. Carl “West” Chester then reached first on a throwing error made by shortstop Dylan Snypes to help score Brujan to make it 2–0.

The Renegades added an insurance run in the ninth. After Angel Perez walked, Deion Tansel singled to right field to score Perez all the way from first to make it 3–0.

Our boys couldn’t do anything all night, but one notable fact is that Jose Miguel Medina got ejected, which makes it at least three ejections on the season for the Funky Cold one.

The loss makes the Cyclones 15–44 on the season, in what has truly become the Summer of Hell.

The Cyclones hope to not make it a dozen losses in a row tonight at 7 pm in Coney Island.
