The owners of a Brooklyn Heights eatery temporarily shut its doors after Department of Health officials slapped the spot with several violations after a Tuesday inspection.
Agency leaders issued Montague Street restaurant Teresa’s two critical sanitary violations, after inspectors found evidence of mice inside, and saw that the kitchen’s setup did not adequately protect food from contamination, according to records.
Health officials also issued the Polish joint between Hicks Street and Pierrepont Place one non-critical penalty, because its owners did not properly vermin-proof the space, whose current state could attract more creepy-crawlies.
The restaurateurs cannot reopen the establishment until they remedy all of the violations, according to Health Department spokeswoman Danielle De Souza, who said she did not know how long Teresa’s doors will remain shuttered.
The eatery’s owners could not be reached for comment.
