Car pilferer

A raider broke into a car parked on Nostrand Avenue sometime overnight on May 13, and stole almost $3,000 worth of items.

The baddie broke into the vehicle, which was left between Clarendon Road and Avenue D, sometime between 9 p.m. and 4:15 a.m. the following day, cops reported. The perp made off with a laptop, headphones, and a wallet, according to police.

Identity theft

A fraudster used a woman’s stolen information to make $791 in unauthorized purchases at an Avenue U department store on May 5.

The woman received a bill in the mail for charges made at the store between Flatbush Avenue and E. 55th Street at 3:10 p.m., using a credit card that her bank mailed to her home, but she never received, cops said.

Jewelry thief

A bandit stole several items of jewelry from a Filmore Avenue home on May 14.

The victim told police she left the bling in a box in her bedroom of the home between E. 52nd and E. 53rd, and later found the items missing. The victim said that there was a repairman working on the home before the items went missing, cops said.

Phone scam

A scammer purchased two cellphones using a Brooklyn Avenue man’s stolen information on May 3.

The victim, who lives between Avenues H and I, received a bill from his wireless company, saying that he had purchased two extra phones using his account, according to the police report. The victim claims he knew nothing about the purchase, cops said.
